At Banchory Christian Fellowship Church we have two AWANA Clubs - the Sparks club for years
P1-P3 (age 5-7) and the Truth and Training club for years P4-P7 (age 8-11).
AWANA is held each Friday evening from 6.00 to 7.30pm at Banchory Primary School, and any children
of primary school age are welcome to join us.
Each meeting has three main elements:
- Handbook Time - when the children memorize verses and complete activities in their handbooks
- Games Time - when they are split into teams that compete in a variety of high energy
fun games, with a focus on being praised for good sportsmanship and doing their best
- Council Time - when the children hear a short lesson containing biblical truths
Points are earned in a variety of ways: by attending, completing sections of their handbook,
bringing friends, taking part in theme events (e.g. Funny Hat day, Inside-Out day), winning games,
cheering loudly, good sportsmanship and listening carefully to instructions. At the end of each meeting,
the achievements of both individuals and teams are recognised. It's all great fun!
